Little Hoopers · Kindergarten to 2nd grade

Their first team.

One night a week, eight-foot hoops, and coaches who know how to hold the attention of a five-year-old. We start with dribbling, passing and shooting, and finish the season playing real three-on-three games. Most players arrive having never played.

What you are signing up for

How the eight weeks work.

The season is built so nobody is thrown into a game before they are ready. Skills first, games second.

Weeks 1 to 3Nothing but fundamentals — dribbling, passing, shooting, and learning how to listen in a gym
Weeks 4 to 8Thirty minutes of skills, then three-on-three games for the rest of the hour
Games are six minutesTeams rotate so everyone plays everyone. Nobody sits watching
October 1 to November 19, 2026Eight Thursdays. That is the whole fall season.

Who runs it

Coach Bennett

Originally from Wisconsin, with coaching experience at high school and college level — San Diego Christian College, Beloit College and Santa Fe Christian. Most recently head coach at Del Norte High School, where she took the team to two Open Division appearances and 43 wins in two seasons. Named Associate Head Coach at Southwestern College in 2024.

Parent questions.

Athletic shoes, a water bottle and a positive attitude. We provide the basketballs, and every player gets one to keep.

That is exactly who this is for. The first three weeks are nothing but the basics, and the hoops are set at eight feet so shots actually go in.

Roughly five to eight years old. If your child is on the edge of the range, message us and we will tell you honestly whether this or a Sol team is the better fit.

No, but you are welcome to. Plenty of parents help with drills or coach a three-on-three team, and we make it easy — no experience needed.

Third grade is when players move up to a Sol team, with tryouts and a full season. Sol Teams covers how that works.
