About Travel

Travel costs more — and you see the number before you say yes. Invitations go out after tryouts with the full cost attached. Nobody is placed on a Travel team and billed a surprise.

Everything included, every week.

One registration covers the whole week — not just a practice and a game.

Sol players in a skills session

Skills, twice a week

On top of team practice, all year — grouped by ability rather than just grade. Repetition is what makes it stick.

Practice at Alliant

One gym, every practice

The same days and times every week, in a building we run. No mid-season venue changes and no schedule that lands Thursday night for Saturday morning.

Open gym most Fridays too

Games that count

Six to nine games a season on weekends, playoffs included. The uniform and player insurance are already in the one-time fee.

Nothing else to buy

Where your player ends up.

Placement is our job, not yours. After tryouts, coaches build teams from the players in the gym. Every registered player is placed, and players move up mid-program when they earn it.

Delta
The first real team

For a player still learning what a closeout is. Sol against Sol, 3v3 or 5v5 by age, with teams built deliberately so nobody spends a season getting run off the floor. Grades 3 and 4 may be co-ed.

Local
The competitive middle

For a player who has the fundamentals and now needs someone to push back. League play, weekend games that mean something, and a clear next rung above them.

Travel
The highest level we run

Invite only, and we form it when the group is there. Four tournaments a season, events outside San Diego, and where the college conversation starts.

Grades 9–12

High school is its own thing.

Same club, same weekly rhythm — but by 9th grade the season is about getting seen. A free Trace camera so games get filmed, four tournaments a season, and alumni at Washington, Cal Poly and Dartmouth.

Questions parents ask.

The season fee is $525, and you can split it into three payments of $175. New players pay a one-time $195 fee their first season, which covers player insurance, the official Sol uniform — game and practice jersey — 15% off every Sol camp, and discounted game admission.

Travel teams are invite-only and cost more than the base season — a longer schedule with more tournaments. Coaches extend those invitations after tryouts and the full cost comes with the invitation, so you see the number before you accept. Nobody is placed on a Travel team and billed a surprise.

No. You register for the club, not a tier. Your athlete tries out, and our coaches place them based on age, skill level, experience and roster balance. Every registered player is placed on a team. If a player grows into a higher level mid-season, we move them up.

No — they are included. Every Sol player gets two skills and conditioning sessions a week on top of team practice, grouped by grade. Families who are not on a Sol team pay for those classes separately.

No. DELTA exists exactly for this. Games are Sol against Sol, teams are built deliberately even, and the whole point is a first season where a beginner actually plays instead of watching. If you want to build confidence before tryouts, our skills classes are a good place to start.

Coaches place every registered player on a team, then your coach contacts you directly — usually within a few days — with your practice days and times. First practice follows shortly after.

Three things, and only one of them is talent. Skills and ability — fundamentals and basketball IQ. Heart — whether a player competes to get better every practice. Coachability — respect for coaches and teammates.

Fall tryouts are Monday, September 14, 2026, and the season runs September 21 to November 22. Two team practices and two skills sessions a week, games on weekends, six to nine games with playoffs included. Travel teams add four tournaments.

Refunds may be requested up until the first day of practice, minus processing and transaction fees. After the first day of practice, team fees are non-refundable, and once a player has been assigned to a team no refunds are issued. Please make sure your athlete can commit to the season before registering.

General admission is $11 at league games and $17 at tournaments, and children 6 and under are free. Sol families can buy a Sol Family Card — ten entries for $65, shared by the whole family.

Alliant International University in Scripps Ranch, 10455 Pomerado Road, San Diego, CA 92131. Every team practices twice a week at our own facility — the same days all season.

The grade your child just completed in June. If they finished 4th grade, register for 4th, not the 5th grade they start in fall.

Little Hoopers is built for kindergarten through 2nd grade — first whistle, first jersey, learning the game through play rather than drills.
